The Divine Call of Missions: Spreading Light in a World of Darkness

In the tapestry of faith, missions are threads of light woven with purpose and compassion. The call to missions is a divine directive, a reminder that we, as believers, are called to be the bearers of light in a world that often finds itself in darkness. The importance of missions transcends borders, cultures, and languages, as it represents our commitment to the Great Commission, the call to make disciples of all nations.

Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV) "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

This scriptural command echoes through the ages, reminding us that we are the torchbearers of Christ's message of hope, salvation, and love. As we embark on missions, we step into the footprints of the early disciples, who spread the Gospel with unwavering dedication.

Isaiah 6:8 (NIV) -"Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, 'Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?' And I said, 'Here am I. Send me!'”

Isaiah's response, "Here am I. Send me!" embodies the spirit of missions. It is an acknowledgment of our willingness to step into the unknown, to traverse the uncharted territories of faith, and to be the hands and feet of God in a world yearning for His grace.

Romans 10:14-15 (NIV- )"How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent?"

These verses highlight the essential role of missionaries in bridging the gap between the unsaved and the Good News. They underscore the importance of being "sent," a commission that requires individuals to carry the torch of the Gospel to the ends of the earth.

2 Corinthians 5:20 (NIV) - "We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God."

Missions are not just a journey; they are a divine appointment. We are Christ's ambassadors, charged with the sacred task of representing Him to the world. It's a role that carries the weight of eternity, as we bring the message of reconciliation to those who have yet to hear.

Missions offer us the privilege of sharing in the joy of salvation, the satisfaction of knowing that through our actions, others may come to know the redeeming love of Christ. In doing so, we reflect the very heart of God, who desires that none should perish but that all should come to repentance.

Let us embrace the divine call of missions with open hearts and willing spirits. As we heed the Great Commission, we become vessels of grace, instruments of transformation, and agents of love. The significance of missions goes beyond geography; it touches the souls of those we serve and, in the process, transforms our own hearts. It is a journey of faith, a testament to our commitment, and a celebration of the transformative power of Christ's love.

In the words of Jesus, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few" (Matthew 9:37). As we embark on missions, may we remember that the fields are ripe for harvest, and our labor is not in vain. Let us heed the call, shine the light of Christ, and be the beacons of hope in a world yearning for salvation.

Spreading the Love of Jesus: Is It Worth Sparing Two Weeks of Your December Holidays?

As the year draws to a close and the festive season approaches, our thoughts often turn to how we'll spend our December holidays. For many, it's a time to unwind, celebrate with loved ones, and relish the joy of the season. But what if we posed a question: "Is it worth sparing two weeks of your December holidays to spread the love of Jesus Christ?" Could there be a more meaningful and rewarding way to celebrate this festive season?

In the hustle and bustle of holiday planning, it's easy to get caught up in the excitement of presents, parties, and feasts. Yet, as followers of Christ, we are called to a higher purpose—a purpose that transcends the temporal pleasures of the holiday season.

1 John 3:18 (NIV) - "Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth."

These words resonate deeply in our hearts. They remind us that our love for Christ is most profoundly expressed through our actions. What greater action can there be than dedicating two weeks to spreading His love, hope, and message of salvation?

Matthew 25:40 (NIV) - "Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me."

In these verses, Jesus emphasizes the importance of our actions. When we serve others, especially those in need, we are serving Him. It's a humbling and deeply meaningful experience to be the hands and feet of Jesus during the holiday season.

But what does it mean to spare two weeks of your December holidays for this noble cause? It means embracing the joy of giving, connecting with individuals and communities in need, and sharing the transformative power of Christ's love.

It means opening your heart to the true spirit of the season—compassion, selflessness, and grace. It's a chance to create lasting memories not only for yourself but for those you serve.

As we contemplate whether it's worth sparing these two weeks, let us remember the example set by our Savior. Jesus came into the world not to be served but to serve, to seek and save the lost. He demonstrated the profound impact that love in action can have.

By sparing two weeks of our December holidays for missions, we step into the footsteps of Jesus. We follow His command to "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation" (Mark 16:15). We become the bearers of hope, the messengers of salvation, and the ambassadors of Christ.

It is indeed worth it. In those two weeks, we have the privilege of witnessing lives transformed, of being part of a divine plan, and of experiencing the joy that comes from serving others. It's a holiday season like no other—a season that celebrates the love of Jesus by sharing it with those who need it most.

So, is it worth sparing two weeks of your December holidays to spread the love of Jesus Christ? Absolutely. It's worth it because in those moments of selflessness, we find a deeper connection to our faith, a richer understanding of Christ's love, and a holiday season filled with true meaning and purpose. It's a gift to others and a gift to yourself—a gift that keeps on giving long after the season has passed.

Join Hands in Unity: Supporting the Machakha Mission Together

As we set our sights on the upcoming Machakha Mission, we are reminded that the success of our mission depends not only on our individual efforts but also on the collective support and unity of our church family and visitors alike. This is a mission that calls for both material and financial assistance, and we are inviting each of you to be a part of this incredible endeavor.

1. Financial Support

Our mission budget stands at Ksh 450,000, a substantial sum that reflects the scope and impact of our mission. We encourage our members to make a financial contribution, and every Ksh 1000 or more makes a significant difference. Your generosity empowers us to provide essential resources, conduct outreach, and meet the diverse needs of the community in Machakha. Let us remember the words of the Apostle Paul, "Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver" (2 Corinthians 9:7).

2. Material Support

Beyond financial contributions, we also welcome material support. Consider donating items like shoes, clothes, detergents, and any other goods that can enhance the lives of those we will serve. These tangible offerings carry a message of love, care, and support. They become instruments of hope and comfort, and they bring a smile to the faces of those in need.

3. Prayer Support

One of the most profound ways to support the mission is through prayer. We believe in the power of prayer to guide us, protect us, and open doors for our mission's success. Your prayers are a vital part of our journey, and we ask that you intercede on behalf of the team, the community we will serve, and the impact we hope to make.

4. Visitors' Support

We extend our call for support to visitors who share our vision and mission. Whether you are part of our faith family or visiting from afar, your contributions, both financial and material, are deeply appreciated. Together, we create a network of love and support that knows no boundaries.

Our treasurer, Catherine Nyamweya, is available to receive financial contributions and provide any necessary financial information. You can reach him at 0111473159 . For further details about the mission or inquiries, please contact Saustin Lumati at +254 742 950973 .

By joining hands and hearts, we can make the Machakha Mission an outstanding success. Together, we can touch lives, inspire change, and fulfill the mission of spreading the love of Jesus. Let's unite in purpose and stand as one to make this mission a shining example of God's grace and love in action.
